That's a sweet thing to say. I think you're a good person. Thing is you could drop a trillion dollar money bomb on Haiti and it would not do the people a bit of good. I know you think I'm callous for saying this but iiwii. We could pay to rebuild all the buildings (and we will) foot the bill for the entire “international” humanitarian effort (and we will) and the Haitians will still have absolutely no idea what the hell rebar is and completely blame the U. S. for the situation they live in.

Where will the Iranians help out? Their forces actually have earthquake search and rescue experience, but are much too busy blowing university professors. What will the Chinese response be I mean besides a boat load of cadmium laced jewelry? No it will be us and us alone and we will be re-payed only in growing resentment from the rest of the world.

I did not mean to insinuate that Haiti is some great paradise. I think it's just that 99% of people I know have never even been there and they get this look on their face when Haiti is mentioned like everyone is plague-infested savages. I have only been to Port-Au-Prince so I'm not exactly an expert, but I have friends who were in the PC who had to be dragged out of Haiti bc they loved their time there so much.

Anyway, I agree that America is often lending a hand in situations of dithering poverty only to have it bitten, but what I do know about Haitians/Dominicans is that they are not only grateful for American support, they welcome any visitor with the warmest of arms. Just wanted to say that.

I realize I'm on a porn blog and no one gives a shit, but I do pray that these people will find some peace and that Pat Robertson gets lobotomized.
