The fact that some have (or have not) stronger drives than others doesn't mean anything. The point is that some people allow themselves to be ruled by their drives and don't (or can't) look at the long-term effects of their actions on others or themselves. She has perpared for what is going to happen when her kids find out. She is an educated person who is making sure that they are open and understandiing of what her and Steve enjoy. It can work cause it has many times before.
