Honesty I assume it's a "game" and that the Vatican's bank is deeply invested in "Avatar".

Often when the Church brings "negative" attention on a movie, the box office take jumps.





Nothing the Catholic church does surprises me. I recently watched Deliver Us from Evil about how the church handled a pedophile priest in California. It's on Netflix streaming service currently.

Watching a father cry about how his daughter was raped by a priest was heart wrenching.

Back to Avatar: I love the way conservatives are all pissed off about the movie. Here is an 86 page thread on Sean Hannity's site where conservatives spew their hatred for the movies message, James Cameron, Hollywood, etc. I love how crazy these people are.
