They would need to hurry to get some people in place inside the UK, because my guess is that they're going to seal off the Isles like never before.

Of course London the terrorist who tried to blow up the Delta flight was recruited in London. They don't need to bring in people, their people are already in every major European city, ready to act.

True, but you noticed they left the US before they tried to meet up with anyone, because there isn't the terrorist support structure here like there is in Europe, or Pakistan.

Plenty of people angry enough to take down a plane with stuff in their underwear or further up...
However, would require fellow passengers from saying WTF and stopping same.
More effective than the ever-increasing regulations of initial boarders taking off their shoes.

For instance, the "swarthy" guy next to me pulls down his tray, pulls a condom of material from his ass, and starts assembling a bomb in front of me.
First, I'm going to start pressing that attendant button above of me (probably the first 10 seconds will be sent pressing the wrong button and turning off and on the "air")!
After that doesn't work, I'm going to really distract him with questions (ever louder) and nudge into his personal space and knock over the stuff.
In retrospect, it could have been lots of sugar that he enjoys for his tea, and I would get the stink eye for knocking it over, but this personal diligence would be far more effective than what is proposed now (e.g. 4th plane of 9/11).

@barry: last time I went from the US back to Canada I didn't even have to show my passport. Granted I was traveling in a car with mt father and I have some wiggle room for being a white guy who speaks fluent English but still...

On another thought, these 5 guys showed how little they really knew. They would have more easily found Al Qeada recruiters in places like Amsterdam, Paris, or London, rather than in Pakistan, where they couldn't even speak any of the languages. It wouldn't surprise me if that's how the crotch bomber got through Amsterdam security in the first place. The extremists are already in place more than ready to turn a blind eye when asked to.

^^^ I don't believe we have as much to worry about here as the Europeans. Sure we have some radicalization but nowhere near the level as in Europe. Can anyone say Cultural Darwinism?
