Are we doomed?? Is this a sign?? A blue moon on New Year's Eve at the beginning of a new decade!!

A full moon occurs every 29.5 days, and most years have 12. On average, an extra full moon in a month – a blue moon – occurs every 2.5 years. The last time there was a lunar double take was in May 2007. New Year's Eve blue moons are rarer, occurring every 19 years. The last time was in 1990; the next one won't come again until 2028.

The world didn't end after the 1990 New Year's blue moon, and somehow I don't think that this one augurs anything in particular, either. Maybe this blue moon augurs that a young lady between 18 and 29 will let me taste her goodies.

I means that if you see your shadow, then you will have an intelligent thought. If not, then you will have to wait 2.5 years for another chance. Good luck babe, I'm rooting for you.

That said...I'll be sipping champagne on the beach enjoying the moonlight bouncing off the waves with my man.

We toasted NYE 1999 on the beach (though just for a few min since we were still in NJ then and it was BITTERLY cold) so it seems appropriate to do it again this year.

Spoilsport! Next you're going to tell us that the moon isn't made out of cheese.
