Man the Pac 10 sucks at football. Has anyone in your conference bothered to show up for a bowl game? How bad is it that UCLA has had the best performance from your sad overrated excuse for a football conference. If the NCAA ever had the stones to drop the hammer on USC's football program for recruiting violations your entire conference would be the Mountain West and WAC's bitch.

There's always next year. Massoli and LaMichael James* will be back, and THAT Option Read will be even better. However, will be on the road for USC (who will be very, very angry), Berkeley and Oregon State... *-there have been quite a few running backs of note from the Pac-10 (O.J., Marcus, Charles White, Best, ad infinitum), but none of them ever ran for more yards as a freshman. P.S. Cupcake Roll Call for the 2 teams playing for the National Championship. Alabama: Florida International, North Texas and Tennessee-Chattanooga, all at home. Texas: Louisiana Monroe, Wyoming, Texas El Paso, and Central Florida. When the conference is split like the SEC and Big 12, requires fewer grueling interconference games, and more time for cupcakes. Pac-10 plays NINE interconference games, leaving only three slots for cupcakes. Oregon's cupcakes this year: Boise State, Purdue, Utah (apparently Louisiana Monroe was already booked).

Every fan of college football should be jumping for joy that the refs put that second back on the clock in the Big 12 championship game. Otherwise you would have had Alabama vs Cincinnati for the national championship. Considering the ass raping that Florida gave Cincinnati last night there would have been a better chance of Donny Long skippering the U.S. to the America's Cup than there would have of anyone watching that game past halftime.

So cool.  I was wrong, and it was a Saturday. For some reason, maybe because it was a "special day" I thought it was a Sunday. But, I was 7, so ... I had NO IDEA I witnessed a Sept call-up start for future Hall of Famer, Johnny Bench [another non-Met I loved]. Thx for the boxscore.

The Pac 10 might go back to being a basketball conference now.
Scratch that, I've seen how the Pac 10 plays basketball this year, make that a water polo or volleyball conference.

Oregon's returning 18/22 starters and have scheduled two cupcakes: New Mexico and Portland State. Look's like 2010 will be filled with Gunker/Moxxie chipping on this thread...

On the upside, USC shouldn't be as good and with graduations, etc., the Big 12 might not have an undefeated power team to grab the non-SEC BCS spot ...
BUT ...
First small problems: Alabama is returning much of their line-up. So, with winning the title, they'll likely be pre-season #1. With Florida rebuilding, perhaps without Urban as coach, Bama might just run the table again.
So that's one in the BCS.
With their win against TCU and the fact that they, too, are returning a good deal of their starters, Boise might be poised to be picked as pre-season #2. And, next year I've heard that their schedule might not be as hard.
If 'Bama & Boise set up as #1 & #2 it might be hard to bust into the BCS Championship party.
