And for going after Al-Qaeda: it hasn't exactly been a succesful hunt so far, has it? You forgot to mention Afghanistan and Iraq.

This is plain bullshit as far as The Netherlands are concerned. There is no other Western country that uses wire-taps, mobile listening devices and internet monitoring as extensively as the NL government. They admit to it openly. Time and again, the prosecution has to reveal the fact that there were unauthorized taps, conversations that should have been deleted and that there is 'information obtained from sources that need to stay unknown'. Usually, they fail to get a conviction, which is as it should be in my opinion.
