IMO the most salient point is that alert passengers took direct action to foil the terrorist. Fuck all this happy talk about the government protecting us, there are only a limited number of security personnel on duty at any given place and time, so we need alert citizens to do whatever is necessary to stop terrorists dead in their tracks.
