[On the other hand, whether or not the deadbeat mom wanted people to know about it is irrelevant, As a society, we've decided that shaming wrong- doers is the thing to do. If she was so concerned about her privacy, she wouldn't put herself in a position where her name would be out in a public forum.
Lets face it, she put herself into that position by interacting with Tiger Wood, not by her missing child support payments. Google her Tiger stories and practically every one of them contains her real name. Why?
Because any competent journalist, when writing about someone uses their real name! We can make fun of ADT all we want, but in this one respect XPT is exactly like ADT: hiding/censoring porn stars real names is absurd. By virtue of being porn stars they are *public figures*. Don't mean to be harsh, but anyone not getting that is living in a dream world.
IMO the "lets protect them from stalkers" argument holds no water. Hollywood starlets (many of them no richer than their porn sisters and thus no more able to afford security) have their real names plastered all over the place -- yet they somehow survive and thrive. In any event, the real, dangerous kind of stalker could easily enough find someone's real name without our help.
Lastly, and I think most important: by frantically hiding their real names (and by us abetting it) porn stars do themselves and their co-workers a huge disservice by branding their own profession and life choices as shameful. Just as all gays being out normalizes being gay, all porn stars being out will improve the lot of porn stars. 150 years ago being an actor of any kind was considered shameful in polite society. Now actors are looked up to. Porn stars are in control of their own destiny -- and by hiding they sabotage themselves. And by abetting them XPT is doing the profession harm as well.
I leave you with this thought: it is all about *your* attitude to having sex on screen. Chloe Sevigny looks at herself as a serious actress, thus so does the world -- giving an on screen blowjob didn't change that. Indeed hordes of celebutants have intentionally leaked their sex tapes as a stepping stone to MTV/VH1 reality shows. It's all in the attitude, and we here have the exactly wrong one.
