When you go to a Labcorp location, your blood is tested at a Labcorp facility. They do not ship the blod to AIM, they ship it to the nearest Labcorp Testing Facility that does the PCR test. Not all Labcorp testing facilities do PCR testing, so sometimes there is a two day shipping process before the lab actually gets the specimen, and even then, some of these facilities only do the test on two days of the week. That is what can cause a delay in Labcorp test results. In Los Angeles AIM uses a lab caled Westcliff. Westcliff picks up the specimens everyday, and run the tests that night. Results are usually at IM by noon, but then AIM has to put those results into the system that some producers have a password for. Same for the results from the Labcorp locations. take a close lood at those results the product=ers have on that database. Somewheere pn those results it says iether "test perfromed at Westcliff Lab/or Labcorp. regarding the price, AIM is the least expensive place in the entire United States to get HIV pcr tests.
talent testing Service is actually a Laboratory in Florida that used to draw blood for AIM. A few years ago they dicided to run the test themselves so they had to create a seperate buisiness to procure the specimen. They have no middleman, and they do NOTHING for you if you test positive for gonn/chlam. they tell you to go to your own doctor to get a prescription. They offer no counseling, and their is NO DOCTOR on staff. They are merely a company that procures specimens for the Lab that runs the test. Notice how the TTS results do not have the name of the lab that performed the test. A violation in several states, including California. Why they are allowed to continue doing this is beyond me. The fact that they use the word "Negative" on their result should also raise a red flag. The proper result is "Not Detected.
Here's a puestion for the industry. What will TTS do if someone tests positive for HIV. Answer....NOTHING. They inform the patient and then say good bye and good luck.
That may all very well be true about TTS ... I really don't know anything about them except that a producer in town uses them quite a bit. As far as price goes, I've heard of people getting pcdnr tests thru their doctor for less, but I suppose it doesn't really matter since Aim is the only option for Talent.
I recall now Aim mentioning the possible lag time for the results, though thru labcorp because of their testing procedures, etc. However, it's never taken the possible 7 - 10 business days they mentioned. Always done by friday if I get drawn monday. Now that i've said that , though it'll take 10 business times next time i get drawn ! lol
