Oh God you really want to know? Cause it's kinda pretentious... ok here goes: The mannequins represent the impossible idealistic female form held by today's society. They are headless because their importance is solely their bodies, not their minds. Also as mannequins are used to sell clothing, these figures represent women as mindless objects whose only objective is to sell a product. Yes, you could say that this idea illustrates the very nature of adult entertainment, but on a broader scale it's about the role of beautiful women in society in general: whether they're used to sell porn, or clothes, or makeup, or alcohol... the list goes on. The model as you can see is angry with the mannequin, but her fury is fruitless and misdirected as the mannequin is not only a statue, it is a headless one at that. In that sense it is the depiction of the mindless corporation: it has no ears to hear you, no eyes to see you, no mind to think of you. The model is also naked (exposed and vulnerable) and en pointe (a stance which is uncomfortable and impossible to maintain for a long period of time), further manifesting the idea that women are held up to unrealistic standards.

I've wanted to shoot a girl with mannequins for a while, and the idea just continued to develop as I planned the shoot. The entire set has different shots of the model molesting the mannequins, walking arm-in-arm with them as a companion, and other various and not so meaningful poses. Anyhow it was fun to shoot and produce something which actually had a message, though I don't really advertise it that way-- people can see what they'd like in it. Obviously I am a cog in the wheel of the problem that is symbolized in this photo, which made it all the more interesting for me to shoot. Really it's just a photo, but if you want to consider the message, it's just a commentary, not a lecture or even really an opinion. It's just something I wanted to do.
