Anybody who would have a serious relationship with a porn star (current or former) has no prospects in life other than pimp, involved in making porno movies, drugs, or maybe manual labor. No successful, intelligent man would have a relationship with a pornstar, would they?
I think you are both onto something and way off base. First of all, I don't see how marrying an (ex) porn star can be detrimental to your career. I haven't a clue what most of my co-workers spouses do (never met 95% of them) and they only know something about mine because I chose to tell, I could have just as easily avoided the subject completely.
Secondly it is a mistake to think that even a highly intelligent man wouldn't be interested in a porn star -- I'm guessing no one here has a clue who my avatar is, but he is a writer who was absolutely obsessed with prostitutes, some of whom had a kind of fame -- the porn stars of their day. Read Bel-Ami whose title was stolen for a porn film (and numerous straight ones, none of which I've seen) or La maison Tellier.
Last comes the element of truth: the problem isn't so much class, but it is education and interests. Most porn chicks haven't finished high school let alone college. Many are as dumb as rocks. Marrying, as opposed to screwing one of them, makes no sense. There are of course exceptions and those would be just as marriageable, or not, as anyone else.
I guess I'm thinking of a no name who did a handful of scenes. That makes a "star" in this business. Not a household name like Jenna (yuck) or Nina Hartley or Jesse Jane.
I admit not knowing who your avatar is, but I've been describing myself as a bon vivant for about 2 weeks now.
