Saying everyone had alts was a bit of an exaggeration. I'vve been accused of it too. Electro hassled me for months about who I "really" was. So, apologies to anyone who doesn't have shitloads of alts.
I care less about the antics of She Who Cannot Be Named than I do over this idea that if a few people are bored by a topic it should be off- limits. No one is forcing you too look at it. I measn, everyone's so riled that Max got federal time, that freedom of speech is being stifled. Yet at the same time people who are bored, irritated, nauseated, whatever because a few of us enjoy jabbing sticks in the cage of She Who Cannot Be Named think that jabbing should be stopped. For no other reason than they are bored with it. I call shenanigans on that. If it were a situation where you had to read 300 posts about SWCBN before you got to the rest of forum, I'd understand. But no, absolutely no one has to read anything here. There are topics that I have no interest in, but I'm able to ignore them. I just can't imagine saying anything has to be shut up because I have no interest.
Truth be told, I've actually lost some interest in SWCBN, mostly because her antics aren't very outrageous anymore. The only dog I have in this fight is the idea that I still believe anything should go, espercially in a forum like this. That's why I care.

I barely know who she is, and never read her topics. Can't say that I'm really for banning discussions of any individuals, unless there's a reason to believe that there may be lawsuits as a result of it. But this is your forum, not mine.
I do wish we could ban alts though...there seems to be an epidemic of them. Why are people afraid to post under their original usernames, and own what they have to say?

No censorship doesn't mean having put up with every moron that floats in here. The Desi thing was like beating a dead horse into pulp. Same thing with Donny Long. And Smartt as well, before he was booted, every newbie thought it was their duty to attack him.
It's still censorship no matter how you cut it. But it's his forum, so he can do what he wants with it. I'm not arguing that point. I'm just voicing my opinion, and disagreeing with it. (Smartt was before my time.)

TIME FOR A RANT. Donny Long threatened violence/aggravation. Hell, I kicked off the last Donny ban with my nonsense. Once it happened, I even PMed Tony with an apology. In part it was me Donny was pissed at. But, he doesn't know my name. He has no access to where I live. So he focuses his anger on people he knows. Which was unfair to Jeff, Tony, et. al. In this case, people were bothering A FIFTEEN YEAR OLD GIRL and used saving her as an excuse. IMHO, NO adult should be conversing with a child they don't know on the internet for ANY REASON. If someone truly believe a child is being harmed in any way, don't take it upon yourself to save the child. CALL THE APPROPRIATE AUTHORITIES IMMEDIATELY. In this case, it seems from what I can gather, the child felt harassed, found herself quoted on XPT, and started bringing unwanted attention on the only people who's names and addresses are available to her --- those that run this site. Personally, I think it was an intelligent act to placate the kid since NO ONE, least of all pornographers, needs to draw the ire of angry parents, over-zealous prosecutors or chest-thumping politicians. And, since the REASON people found this girl was an obsession with discrediting "Ms. Arnaz", I can't see how this isn't a good time for us to welcome a break in hostilities. But, I could be wrong. And, Tony on a whim could have said this simply because he was bored.  [UnderMyBreath]fuckin' idiots[/UnderMyBreath] Free speech comes with accountability. The only people accountable are the people who run this site. Other than the porn business people, the rest of us are anonymous alts of ourselves with fake names and pictures, some more honest about things than others but always some cards kept unturned. Hell, for all you know I'm not mentally ill, thin, fit, a Mormon, find THE Twins hideous and hate cats, but still working full time for law enforcement ... passing on child info to those who can best deal with when I see it.  So, while it would be heroic for those involved to stand imperiled for the boundless, ubiquitous free speech of the nameless rabble called XPT, I don't see why they should be so compelled. Or, why they need to be absolutely forthright in explaining every motive for every action they choose to take. It's fine not to like it. But, it's a bit trying, for me at least, for people to contend that thye don't understand it.

I have seen no posts where XPT members have claimed they are, or were, posting on the 15YO's blog. I have seen mention of it, I think I saw a link to it, I quoted something amusing from it (as did others).
I saw one member argue that there is nothing wrong with posting on a public blog, regardless of blog owner's age. I know I agreed with his logic.
So where was there any discussion from individuals about XPT really posting on the blog?

You're right. At this moment he's allowing it to stay open. But the question remains, what if he gets bored with it tomorrow? Then what happens? Does it get shut down then? Will you see the writing on the wall then? Or will you continue to defend him? I agree that free speech comes with responsibilities. I don't see how, on at least the issue of SWCBN, that any line has been crossed. No one threatened her, no matter what she said. This banning was a matter of taste, at least according to Tony. Maybe something else was going on. I honestly hope there was something going on we don't know about. Because to ban a topic, simply because you don't like it, is chickenshit. Sure, it's his forum and all, but that doesn't make it any less chickenshit.

Barry, the situation involved a minor and created the possibility for a potential liability or at least a pain in the ass for this board's owner. This board's owner or his designee has the right to limit speech on this privately owned board in order to prevent potential liability or alleviate what has become a pain in the ass. Aren't the first five words of the First Amendment "Congress shall make no law..."? Free speech is about governmental action, this is about keeping a piece of private property from potentially causing its owner a hassle. Capiche?

I catfishe that. I've said that from the beginning, haven't I? I said it when thev first SWCBN thread got locked, didn't I? I realize it's his show and can be run however he wants. I'm not disputing that. But that doesn't make him God Almighty. If anyone tramples on anyone's speech, I'm going to call them on it. I'm not SWCBN. I know the Bill of Rights and I know we're not talking a governmental issue here. I never, at any point, said we were.
If you think free speech is nothing more than a governmental issue, well, I'm sorry.
Apparently this has upset the delicate treehouse. Fine. I'm done with the issue. The explanation given was chickenshit. And the "truth" is about 2 steps up. But apparently no one gives a shit...altho I'm sure you would if it were your pet projects. But we already knew that, didn't we?

This has nothing to do with SWCBN or her little friend. It has to do with the owner, who makes his living from Free Speech, stifling the free speech of others. Plain and simple. I am bored at this moment (Lakers are killing OKC), so I might as well jump in the scrum.
Even though the situation involed a minor, there was never any possibility for potential liability. Anyone, adult or child, can reply on any public forum, even if that forum is a 15YO's blog. There was never any accusation that anyone wrote anything sexually suggestive. It was just a 15YO pissed off that other people warned her not to align with Diana since Diana has a proven history of recruiting teenagers into porn.
Maybe the 15YO's mom should get involved and stop her child from twittering with known prostitutes. If a known prostitute can twitter a 15YO, then explain why another adult cannot warn that child?
As per Tony and freedom of speech: I have no idea what Tony believes concerning feedom of speech. If he truly believes freedom of speech is a right that should be protected at all costs (which I believe), then I question his decision to ban topics on this forum. I'd use stronger words here, but I wish not to be banned.
