Hmmm. I'm still wondering why the media refuses to label Obama's war in Afghanistan as a "quagmire." If Bush was still in office, they would be hoping for the war to go poorly, just so they could throw that label on it and try to compare the whole thing to Vietnam.

Is that really a big deal? Is it as bad as inflating all the numbers about jobs which have been "saved?" I heard one company was instructed to use the stimulus money to give out raises and that they should report every 1% salary increase as a job "saved" by ObamaBucks. Like if a company has 500 employees and gives everyone a 2% raise, it counts as 1,000 jobs saved.

I'm not going to defend Hannity but I would point out that MSNBC has had a history of clearly cherry picking footage to distort the actual mood and representation of Tea Party rallies as well.

As an aside, if you're getting your news from John Stewart and/ or Steven Colbert, you're a bigger douche than anyone who swears by Hannity, Back, sweet lil' Andy Cooper, or Maddow. I think Colbert is a comic genius, but a newsman he ain't.

That's 10 years of Nationasl Socialism running the show, and 20 years since they were a major force in German politics. That said, the Communists weren't very kind to religious Jews.
Now, can't speak for the motives of someone who lived 60 years ago, but there could be a few reasons. They knew which side of the struggle was most likely to win the battle for power in post WW1 Germany. And they were going to be sure to be on that side, because all sides had made it very clear that they didn't suffer those who weren't with them lightly. Maybe they were fellow travellers, who knows? The fact is, if you didn't play ball with the Nazis, the best you could hope for was being an official puppet as opposed to an unofficial one. The head of Krupp was run out when he started to speak out that der Fuhrer might be a bit meshuggah and replaced by a nephew or something who was a bit more pliable. A dirty secret of politics is that big corporations give money to both side, so no matter who wins, they still come out on top. In Thyssen's case, I think he had drunk the KoolAid. Maybe not. I really don't know. But I think it's safe tom say it was more than one thing that made his decision for him. It's never as easy as "oh, that Dolfy is a hoot. I'll give him cash, then have a bratwurst and kraut while I wear my lederhausen (jondra)".
It was a no win for anyone. The Nazis or the Communists would win. And at least with the Nazis you muight be able to stay alive and be the presumptive head of your company, if you followed the Party line. With the Communists, you were pretty likely to be put up against the wall as an Enemy of the People.

False dichotomy, German industrialists were not faced with a choice between Nazism and Communism. They could have supported Reichskanzler Generalleutenant Kurt von Schleicher, who was willing to put together a coalition of the non-Nazi right, the Catholic Zentrum, and the Social Democrats. The German Nazis' big business supporters saw an opportunity to create a reactionary dictatorship to crush not only German Communism, but also German Social Democracy, and pro-labor "Catholic action" based German Zentrum. The resulting Nazi dictatorship crushed the German trade unions, outlawing them on May 2, 1933, and awarded huge government contracts to Thyssen, Krupp, Bayer, and other large German privately owned corporations, allowing them to make superprofits. This profitable arrangement continued through World War II, when privately owned German corporations raked in super duper profits from using slave laborers from countries conquered by Germany. Doesn't even smell like socialism to me.
