hey, you're not wrong as it turns out--he used both words at some point. opium is in some original text, although every other academic refrerence, including my bertrand russell book uses opiate--which is generally how he's quoted(or misquoted?) by most people. in Introduction to A Contribution to the Critique of Hegel's Philosophy of Right, it be opium, not a well-known text, but legit. i learned something interesting, thanks dude...and adt thinks this place is lowbrow.
