It really isn't as straight forward as that. The theory goes that Stephanie Swift had a lump in her breast, she had it biopsied and it was benign. While waiting for the results, she was scared that she had breast cancer and was freaked out. She decided to have ELECTIVE surgery to remove her breasts and get implants so that she would never have to go through an "ordeal" like that again.

This is based on the early comments that she made to others at the time of the initial biopsy and the fact that double mastectomy surgery for a lump in one breast is very unusual and the fact that if she could not afford chemotherapy there are about a thousand organizations currently in place to give her financial assistance or allow her to get the treatment for free.

The only thing these organizations would not provide money for would be something like an elective surgery or breast implants.
