It's another attention whoring tool. The phrase "on/for the record" is used entirely too much by so many unknown people nowadays. Blogging and stuff is such a plague. I don't really give a shit about the day of some d-list wannabe. If the people higher up start texting about coke quality after a bathroom visit, whore quality after a stay at a hotel or who they fucked to get ahead after a meeting, it could be mildly amusing. The rest is just spam.
