I just heard in 1993 Polanski agreed to pay the rape victim $500,000. He was given two years to pay but has never paid. At one point her lawyers attempted to garnish his wages. As of 1996 he owed her over $600,000 which is with interest. After not paying and this dragging out in court, she then contacted the judge saying she was dropping the case and she didn't mind if he was allowed back in the United States.
