I hated that shit. Not only are the paints ridiculously expensive they can take days/weeks to dry. I liked acrylics better because of how easy they were to clean up, how quickly they dried and how you could layer the paint to get texture on the canvas. Due to a course I took with live models, I also associate the smell of titanium white, thalo blue etc. with sex. Open a tube of acrylic paint- instant wood for me. Gessoing a canvas has the same result.

I've only painted 3 pictures. I am trying to teach myself. I used to be pretty good at drawing and sketching, but always wanted to learn to paint in oils. I don't know much about what I'm doing, but I am learning slowly (out of books). I'd love to take a class, but my job doesn't leave too much free time. Don't know anything about acrylics.



^^^My last painting using only basic colors mixed together to make different colors & shades. I specifically went to the store to buy these oranges to use as "models" to practice mixing other oils to make orange. I hope I can move on to painting people someday, but that is a long way off.
