Was she looking for sympathy or was she looking for attention to jump start the various "careers" she has in the fire? I think if she managed to make it to Oprah, or more likely Povich or some D- grade talkfest, that even if she were thoroughly trashed, she would still think she came out on top, for the simple reason that she got attention. Maybe her daily page views might jump to 15.

I'm sure there are other such "teams" out there. But Mom trying to remake herself into some kind of higher moral authority, not to mention aggrieved party, was beyond the pale. Throw in her various "crusades" and her inability/ refusal to find a job, and her various excuses as to why, she couldn't be anything but a target.

Things might have gone differently if she would have taken just a little bit of responsibility for her actions. If she'd have had her little crusade to save America's daughters, but included a "hey, I fucked up by pimping my daughter", I doubt she'd have become the project she became for some. But that's something she'll never be able to do. If you think she melted down here, just imagine what would happen if she truly looked at herself and admitted the most damaging person in her life is herself. It's really much easier to blame others for your mistakes, to imagine that you're the hero fighting a lone battle against the forces of "evil", one of her favorite themes toward the end. It's much harder to admit that it was you that made the poor choices that destroyed everything in your life. Her marraige? The ex's fault. Her daughter's foray into porn and escorting? Not Mom's fault. She had no hand in it at all. Those evil porn guys practically reached into her house and stole her innocence. Mom was just a journalist doing an in- depth report on those dirty Jews that want to see those Gentile girls defiled. She wags that bony finger at us, we respond, and we're being "violent" and Tyra and the President had to be notified. She took herself oh, so seriously, while generally making an ass of herself.

I'll miss her antics, and the general fuckery that went with her. But let's be real here. She will be back. She needs the drama, the sympathy, the attention. And I for one will give her the homecoming she deserves.
