I stop by Austin (TX) sometimes, where Alex Jones has his radio station. He is absolutely nuts. He strings together conspiracy theories of all sorts and spins them round and round. His commercial breaks feature guys hawking seeds, gold, and whatnot for those preparing to tough out the coming Armaggedon.
For extended lunacy check out Coast to Coast AM. They give Jones a run for his money.

I'll give 'em a listen sometimes on Coast To Coast AM, but it all becomes a bunch of wah wah after awhile. Alex Jones just sounds like a guy who needs to get his ass kicked, imo.

I watched several videos around or by him. It was mentioned in a few posts of mine in this thread.

The owner of the porn store I used to patronize was really into Alex Jones/infowars.com shit. He'd have tapes playing all the time from the moment you walked inside and a lot of posters and literature scattered about the shop.

I am friends with some raw food people on facebook who are into the whole 'cooked food is poison' blah blah shit. Then two of them start posing the vaccine/autism vids featuring 'professor' Jenny McCarthy and David Icke, who also happens to believe that several important families including the Royals and the Bushes are half-reptilian shape-shifters (I'm not fucking kidding). So I posted some responses kind of trolling/asking why the fuck do you not trust the government but trust these lunatics? This guy has come out of the woodwork, as he is a friend of some. He is a 9/11, vaccinations , and AIDS 'factualist', whatever that is: www.spontaneouscreation.org/ He is also an internet tough guy , as shown by some of his responses.... http://layscience.net/node/464http://www.ratbags.com/rsoles/comment/gentlebirth.htm I wish I was more computer literate so I could proceed with teh lulz.

That's the concept of "V," a TV mini series from a while back. There's a remake in the works, more fodder for the "info warriors."

Icke is hilarious, completely fucking nuts but a friend of mine who works at a bookstore told me his books sell like crazy.
The funny thing is Icke is surrounded by a bunch of 'Jews-run-the-world-through-banks' types like our very own Coke, who think he's talking in code about the Jews, but Icke is serious about the 12-foot-tall shape-shifting lizard men.

I used to be very into conspiracies. Not so much as a believer, but I'm just such an info junkie, I just love looking at stuff thru other people's eyes. Plus it was fun to tear down LaRushe people. I always figured if I had to read his dry books, I'd better get something out of it.
I used to be big JFK Conspiracy fan. I was reasonably sure that the Oliver Stone/ Jim Garrison version was pretty close to the truth, but with a few variations. Military/ Right Wing Bircher types/ the Mob with Oswald as a patsy/ hero. But I've read Posner's book, and it really put things into perspective and I'm pretty much now a singe gunman/ Oswald did it person.
I'm not as big into conspiracies as I once was, tho. 9/11 weirded me out pretty badly, as I'm sure it did everyone. When the Truther Movement started, I studied it a little, but there were just so many smoking guns pointing in the direction of Islamac Radicals, that I just couldn't make sense of it. It's like someone else said, that no matter how many times you refute their arguements, they just smirk an say "sheep". Plus the fact I'd seen it with my own eyes, and had spent several days bleary eyed in front of the tv, made it real or more personal. I hadn't even been born when JFK was killed, so it was just a concept, not a "real" event. 9/11 was real, with real people and real pain. It was more than a mental masterbatory exercise. For lack of a better term, it wasn't fun to try to find inconsistencies and holes in the official story. But I'm brutal with people I know who are Truthers, probably for that very reason. When they start spouting the nonsense, it just reminds me of the pain, and I let them have it with both barrels.

Who? David Wolfe? I was into him at first, but the more I got into raw foods, I realized he was all about selling supplements/potions/powders/superfoods, which IS NOT what raw food is about. Most people on my raw food board hate conspiracy theories and most raw foodists pretty much hate David Wolfe and find holes in most of these gurus.
Mmmmmmm....blueberries. Yum. I know what I'm having for breakfast. Thanx, Gia.
Isn't most of the conspiracy stuff about selling books, or powders or whatever? $200 a head seminars and such.
I did manaage to somehow get on a David Irving email list. I'd read a couple of his books on WWII and his footnotes and sourcing was impeccable, but I hadn't realized over the past few years he'd drifted into Holocaust denial. He was speaking at a college town near me, so I signed up to go see him. Talk about your clusterfucks. The original venue cancelled at the last minute, and I started getting these secretive emails that I had to call this number between x o'clock and y o'clock to find out the location and how many were in my party and such. It was all very weird, so I quick Wiki'd him and found out he was the darling of the Holocaust denying crowd. Well, that changed everything. You couldn't keep me away. I called and went to the speech. It was all the typical denial bullshit, cloaked in a proper English accent. Throw in how the Internation Bankers (you know who they are) were out to destroy him for telling the truth. Anyhoo, I showed the proper respect during the Q&A, got my copy of Hitler's War autographed, and drove home giggling like a mongloid. About every 6 months I get an email from him telling me about a secret speaking engagement near me and a reminder not to tell anyone who isn't "like- minded".
Ah, brushes with greatness. Almost as cool as having Vince Bugliosi sign my copy of Helter Skelter.

I read an occasional Alex Jones piece that gets posted on whatreallyhappened.com. My MO with the conspiracy stuff, they are just as full of shit as the people thay say are pulling the wool over our eyes. Some where in between the 2 stories is reality, so you have to shift through both sides of BS and try to pick out the realistic facts. I mean, did our Gov. organize and pay for 9/11 to happen...I doubt it. Now did our Gov. take advantage of a fucked up situation to push through their agenda, of course.
As for Kennedy, I tend to think that random kooks don't usually follow through on things, other wise there would be a lot more dead gov. officials and celebrities. Plus, if LHO worked alone, then why did Ruby kill him?

I don't believe that Dec 21, 2012 will be the end of the world but I'd be lying if I said that I didn't *want* it to be true. Cosmic radiation, polar shift , time wave zero, massive sunspots or whatever to end this current age of "civilization" would be just dandy.

vaccines causing autism etc.
The research Jenny McCarthy has done on autism has shown that many of the vaccines infants and children are forced to have are not needed. She says the rise in these vaccines happened in the 80's. The rise in autism coincidentally also happened in the 80's. She said the government & pharmaceutical companies are in it together to push these vaccines on us while they make all the money.
For 16 years, the FDA refused to approve aspartame because of how dangerous it is. Donald Rumsfeld was the CEO of Searle which manufactured aspartame. He was on Ronald Reagan's transition team. The day after Reagan took office, new FDA Commissioner Arthur Hull Hayes was appointed and he soon quickly approved aspartame.
If a known poison wasn't approved for 16 years by the FDA, what makes any of us think that the same Reagan administration wouldn't pass laws to allow children to be given dangerous vaccines when they didn't need them?

The key phrase is that kooks "usually" don't follow through. The vast majority don't, you're right. But some do. This prick in California that kidnapped the girl 18 years ago. Sirhan did. Arthur Bremmer did when he capped Wallace. Hinkley did. Squeaky Fromme did. Klebold and Harris did. Timothy McVey did. It happens. The rusty wire that holds the cork that keeps the anger in breaks sometimes (I love sneaking in a Pink Floyd reference). All the eveidence points to LHO. I admit a Manchurian Candidate is a lot more exciting and sexy. But the fact is that Oswald was a marginalized goof from the git- go. His childhood, his time in the Army, his time in Russia, his time after he came back to the states. He was a lone nut desperately wanting to be Somebody. Look at his defection. The Soviets wanted nothing to do with him because he had nothing they wanted. They shipped him off to work in a radio factory. No dascha, no big apartment, no fancy Zil to cruise around in. Look at his time in New Orleans as the only member of the Free Cuba Committee. It all screams LOOK AT ME!! And nobody did. Even when he capped Walker, no one cared. Even his family, his wife, saw him as a loser. Until November 22.
I don't know why Ruby capped him. Apparently it was well known in Dallas that Jack was meshuga. I'd assume it was two lone nuts whose destinys collided. Not as sexy as a gangland hit, but certainly more plausible.

Ruby capped Oswald because he was very upset that he (Oswald) had killed his president and also he was doing it so Jackie wouldn't have to go thru the agony of a trial. Ruby actually thought that he was going to be regarded as a hero.

I have watched a lot of videos by David Icke. He's lost his mind (if he ever had one). Reptiles, Atlantis, etc. It's amusing to see how delusional people can get.
Alex Jones is pure entertainment. I enjoyed watching his hyper presentations about all kinds of things. I think he makes a few valid points here and there, but it gets lost in all the outrage and exaggeration.
I don't care much about any JFK conspiracy.
The 9/11 thing is something else. Where I find it hard to believe it was 'an inside job', I agree with a lot of the questions asked by people/organisations regarding what happened on that day and during the investigation afterwards.

Just in time for 9/11: Charlie Sheen Joins the 'Truther' 9/11 Conspiracy Theory Fringe By Peter Roff, Thomas Jefferson Street blog "Truthers" are the people who believe the 9/11 terror attacks were an inside job. That the Bush administration had advance knowledge of them and let them occur. In the more extreme version of an already extremist theory, truthers believe the U.S. government itself carried out the attacks as an excuse to take the nation to war. At the very least the truthers question the official version of events and want the government to reopen the investigation. In a way, they have a lot in common with those who to this day refuse to believe that Lee Harvey Oswald fired the fatal shot in Dallas. One prominent truther is former U.S. Rep. Cynthia McKinney, D-Ga. Another is former Obama White House aide Van Jones (whose resignation late Saturday came after it was learned his name appears on a truther petition demanding further investigation of the events surrounding 9/11). Another is, believe it or not, actor Charlie Sheen, who currently stars on just about the only comedy left on CBS that anyone watches. And Sheen wants a face-to-face meeting with President Obama so he can ask him to personally order an investigation into the "9/11 cover up." ... The Article

Charlie's been a Truther pretty much from the start. I think it's hilarious that a drug addled, whoremongering celeb like him actually thinks he should be taken seriously. Where does Courtney Love stand on all this?
I'd figure he's trying to be like his Daddy. Martin Sheen is pretty well known as an America hating rich guy.
