hey guys I wasn't sure where to post this, but a techie friend gave me some great advice recently when I set my phone on a wet kitchen counter. It was all fucked up... the buttons weren't working and it was dialing voicemail on its own. I thought I would need to buy another new phone but I did what he said, and it worked!



All I did was take it apart (took the covers off, battery and sim card out, etc) and put it in a ziploc bag with rice (I used brown because that's all I had at home)
Anyway I let it sit in the bag of rice overnight, turned it on in the morning and everything worked fine.

Just thought that might come in handy for someone who is as irresponsible with phones as I am

It's not. I was at a friends house and her sprayer got a little out of control when she was washing some stuff. I set it down without thinking.

Use some of those silica packs that come with electronics goods for the same effect.

I forgot an mp3 player in some shorts that went into the laundry and got washed for 30 minutes. Luckily, I found them before frying it in the dryer. The player came back to life after taking it apart, placing it on a towel and letting it dry under a desk lamp for a day or two.
