Because Farve wanted to get out of training camp (like every year), but in a way that won't be resented by teammates (so he thinks). Also, he wants to drive Packers GM Ted Thompson crazy. Farve is obsessed with Ted Thompson because he couldn't get over the fact that for once his diva behavior wasn't indulged last year (after he changed his mind at the last minute and wanted to come back to Green Bay). Thompson was right to tell him to fuck off at that point. The Packers had moved on with new personel based on Farve's word that he was retiring for good. Farve had been putting the team through that shit every season for 3 or 4 years. And Thompson had a specific clause in the Jets deal last year to prevent Farve from ending up with the division rival Viqueens. The entire Minnesota thing is Farve's ultimate revenge. If Farve has a better season than Packers QB Aaron Rogers, Green Bay's coach and gm are going to get canned for sure.
