Do you think the media is being intellectually dishonest on purpose by pretending it's good news that 33 more spic miners are walking the Earth today? Or do you think they're just caught up in the moment? Let's be honest. It's not like there's a spic shortage. Their own greenie leftist heroes are always bitching about overpopulation. No one thinks any of these greasers were going to discover the cure for cancer.

Less intellectually dishonest that it is empathy. It's very easy to get caught up in things like this. Everyone is claustrophobic to one degree or another, so I think a lot of people can wrap their heads around the fear that these guys have to be feeling.

It's not about spics. It's about the human condition. It's about people coming back from the dead. Metaphorically, I guess, but about as close as it comes. It's about people working a dirty, thankless gig, but having people coming together to save them. And it's about the world just needing some good news.

It's intellectually dishonest to call these guys wetbacks. These are guys working a middle class job. I doubt if any of them has tried to come to the States to pick lettuce.

This is a good thing, because these things seldom play out the way this one appears to be.

But you do what you need to do. You're nothing if not predictable.
