Well, if you saved the CD that came with the box that let's you re-install the OS, and still have the install info for any commercial software you bought, etc.. If you didn't, it's time to start looking for a way to migrate stuff you have all the install stuff for...
When you buy a new computer, you should keep one of the small boxes that comes with it and throw all the install CD's in there. When shit like this happens, you go back in the back of your closet to get it, making damn sure to put it all back in the box and the closet when you're done.
