FUCK! My computer is screwed up. I cant log into most sites...nothing works right and my desktop has been changed to say YOUR SYSTEM IS INFECTED. Every time I try to run something to fix it I get a message saying cant be done..system infected...BUY OUR SOFTWARE TO FIX IT. Are you FUCKING KIDDING ME?? How did someone break in and disable my computer and hold it fucking hostage??
I try to run in safe mode and I get a blue screen that says basically...hey...did you know your computer is fucked up? You should fix that and then restart. But I cant click on anything...I have no arrow on the screen. Nothing. All I can do at that point is hit the power button and shot down manually. I FUCKING HATE FUCKING PC'S...I CANT WAIT TO GET A MAC LAPTOP. THIS SUCKS DONKEY ASS.
Anyone know how to fix this?? Dammit I hate PC's

Sorry to hear that it must be that fake virus removal software. I've seen the free edition of Super Anti-Spyware deal with that, but it can be tricky to install once the machine is infected. A Mac isn't going to provide you with any better protection though. Only changing to Linux well help you there, sorry.

Can you launch system restore? That may not work, but it may be an easy free fix, otherwise paying for retail software or spending the rest of your day on the phone with tech support may be your only options. Sorry.

MACS dont get viruses. Or at least its excessively rare. Never had a single issue with any MAC I've had...PC on the other hand is one issue after another. I fucking hate it.

Well, there are probably a bunch of different ways, but if you can still click the start button and then on the "Control Panel" button on the start menu, try first to click on "Uninstall a program" just look down the list and try to find the program that looks like your malicious software (sort of like the old game of "which one of these things is not like the others"). Usually, they won't be able to be removed this way, but sometimes they can, and at least you can identify your culprit sometimes.
The system restore program is located in different places on different computers, but it should also be available under control panel > backup and restore center > repair windows using system restore.
Edit: uhh, or just do a Search for "System Restore"

why? you restored already and it was still there or you couldn't get the program to launch? a full restore usually takes about 5 or 10 minutes (or more).

Every time I try to click on or try most of the stuff mentioned here I just get a message saying "cant do that...buy our shit" (paraphrased of course...)
I tried to uninstall...but honestly I just dont know what to keep and what to toss. I know how to USE a computer...but fixing one...I'm at a loss.
I'll just ave to wait until my man gets home. He knows computers (though he's a MAC guy...but he's fixed mine before)and hopefully he'll be able to figure it out.
It just pisses me off. How DARE they fucking blackmail me and hold my shit hostage to buy their crap ass software???How BAD does their shit have to be if THIS is the only way they can get it sold???? FUCK THEM UP THE ASS WITH A RUSTY GOD-DAMMED CHAINSAW AND POUR ACID IN THE OPEN WOUNDS!!!!!
So I can get on one or two sites (dealing with their fucking pop up BS every 2 min)..but I cant check email(thank god it goes to my blackberry) or myspace,facebook..any of that crap. AND I cant go on webcam so I cant work today. And I have a bunch of shoots coming up in the next week so I was kind of hoping to bulk up my next check and have some fun on cam today.
Fuck it. I'll go get my nails done instead. Cocksucking blackmailers.

I agree with just googling the virus. Just don't click on the website of the same guys who sent it. I didn't know they gave you their name so easily (which is why I suggested you look under the remove programs list first to find the name).
Sort of like leaving your driver's license at a rape scene.

Hey Cameron.
This should work(err..there is also a small chance that it will fuck up your computer...don't hold me responsible if that happens)
1. Kill the process 'PAVRM.exe'
In task manager(control+ald+del) find pavrm.exe and end it.
2. Delete registry values:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\avr lastd
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\avr lastscan
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\avr lastvfc
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\avr virlist
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run advanced virus remover
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run advanced virus remover
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\AVR
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\International\CpMRU
Start-run-'regedit'(without quotes)
3. Delete files
PAVRM.exe
Advanced Virus Remover.lnk
Use the search function to find them on your computer
4. Delete folder
%program_files%\advancedvirusremover
(it's probably C:\program files\advancedvirusremover
That's should be it. It's not as hard as it look and should solve your problem.

Or is there valuable stuff that you don't want to erase?

I tried running malware and it isn't working. The sites that tell you how to get rid of it said to do that too. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if my computer is just fucked. What a piece of shit this thing is.

I had to remove a virus like that one time. It's a pain in the ass. The people I did it for, messed with it for days before they finally came and asked me.
It took me hours and I actually forgot the exact steps I took to get rid of it. Every time you go to a web site that can help, the virus kicks in and tells you you can't go to that web site, etc. The trick is finding some way to run legitimate anti-virus software which will probably remove it immediately.
There are free, legitimate, online scanners. Where you go to their web site and just run the scan from the web. But, I think that virus I had, every time I'd go to won, the virus would hijack the browser again.
That's the thing, I forget how I actually got the anti-virus to run successfully.
There's all kinds of people with all kinds of reasons why you should run whatever anti-virus they want you to. It's like a religious thing. But, AVG is free and is competitive with other solutions. After you get your computer fixed, just go to free.avg.com and download the free version. Make sure it's doing nightly updates so it retrieves "definitions" of new viruses out there on the internet.
Also, make sure you have your Windows box doing automatic updates at night. That's really more important than running anti-virus software. Because, most of the times people's boxes get infected, it's due to an old hole in the software that Microsoft's already fixed, but people haven't installed the updates.
You may already be doing those two things, but those last 2 paragraphs, that's why the vast majority of people get infected.
Also, I did a little more research after I finally got that virus removed. The virus I had was actually financed to be written by the mafia. Forget now, but yeah. I think it's the same mafia that Italian guys, the Sopranos was based on...

I just remembered how I did it. I downloaded some legit anti-virus (and the only computer I had to download it with happened to be a Mac... but, that's beside the point), then burned the anti-virus to CD. I was able to install the anti-virus from the CD onto the Windows box. Then, the anti-virus software found the virus and it was gone pretty much instantly. Well, there was like an hour or two wait for the anti-virus scan to finish. I forget why it took that long to scan, don't think it normally does. But, the virus itself was found in like the first 5 minutes of the scan.

The guy had already paid for Norton anti-virus because he had been sold it in the past, etc... So, he wanted to use that. So, I d/l'd that for him onto CD, etc.
But, I'd really just go with AVG from free.avg.com, because it's competitive with the other solutions, and it's free. I glanced at the features that come with the upgraded, for-pay version of AVG, most people don't need 'em. And, you don't need them just to get rid of this virus. So, you may check your ISP and see if you already got a free copy with them. Especially if your more comfortable with a brand name who's better known because of all the marketing they've done. The problem with this approach is that if you change ISP's, you may have to change anti-virus too. I like to rely on the ISP for as little as possible, don't even use their email, so I can switch as better deals become available in my area, etc. But, if you're more comfortable with a better known brand, this route ain't bad.
It doesn't matter, just get some good anti-virus on there and run a scan.
If the 1st doesn't work, try a 2nd.

Worked with computers for years and the best advice I can give, even though you won't want to hear it is:
Flatten and rebuild.
Use the same machine and start over like new.
Take it all apart, clean out all the dust with compressed gas. Replace and worn out fans.
Then reinstall windows/whatever OS you use.
Sometimes you have to just take it a a loss and start over.

If there's not irreplaceable data on that box, that ain't bad advice. Computers can use a reset back to where everything is clean, fresh, and newly installed occasionally.
Well, if you saved the CD that came with the box that let's you re-install the OS, and still have the install info for any commercial software you bought, etc.. If you didn't, it's time to start looking for a way to migrate stuff you have all the install stuff for...
When you buy a new computer, you should keep one of the small boxes that comes with it and throw all the install CD's in there. When shit like this happens, you go back in the back of your closet to get it, making damn sure to put it all back in the box and the closet when you're done.

It sounds like the bug is jumping to memory at start-up, nothing new. It's really easy to deal with, if you have access to another computer and a external hard drive enclosure. Take drive out, put in enclosure, plug into another computer, run anti-virus, malware program. I like Avast for AV, spybot for malware.
Mac or PC it's just a program, it can't be bad, or really do anything on it's own. Sounds like you were running inferior protection. As I said Avast has worked great for me, as has Spybot, and Ad-aware.

A good rule of thumb to avoid download a fake spyware/antivirus(which is actually in it's self spyware or a virus) is anything from majorgeeks.com is legit.

In your start menu under All Programs, wasn't there a restore program there? Accessories and system tools? You could have picked the point of a few days ago and it would have restored the computer to that point. Do you update all your definitions and updates every day & run all your scans every day? What softwares do you use? I have AVG free, Ad-Aware, Spyware Blaster, Spybot Search & Destroy, and SUPERAntiSpyware free. I've had them for years and don't have that many problems. I try to download all my software from http://download.cnet.com/windows/
