Once you're in the friend zone, you're always in the friend zone. Remember that.

But seriously, a bar/lounge is still a better choice. Coffee dates always have that 'just friends' ambience. Evening drinks at a bar/lounge can go either way- friends or romantic possibility. At least with the latter, you have a choice. I feel it's more relaxing than feeling like I'm being interviewed over a Frap and a day old scone.
