20th Annual XRCO Awards Show Confirmed for August 19, 2004

CENTURY CITY, Calif. - The yearly XRCO (X-Rated Critics Organization) Awards Show will be held August 19, 2004, once again at the Century Club located at 10131 Constellation Blvd in Century City. If the evening matches events of previous years, many of the porno-luminaries nominated for various categories will be in attendance. Free entry to this special event is limited to adult industry members and it is not open to the general public. Reservations are recommended.

The awards show is normally held in mid-February. Next year it should occur earlier in the year.

A new category this year is Mainstream’s Adult Media Favorite, which reflects publicity and mainstream acceptance of the four nominees for their contribution to airtime and print exposure during the year 2003. These include Jenna Jameson for her Times Square billboard and media blitz; Ron Jeremy for The Surreal Life 2 and other shows, and “The Hedgehog Turns 50” cover story in Playboy; Mary Carey for her campaign for governor of California; and Belladonna’s TV coverage for the Primetime Thursday special.

Another new addition, or extension, to a category is expanding Best Comedy to Best Comedy or Parody. The five nominees are Beat the Devil by Digital Playground; Chunky on the 4th of July by SkinTight Pictures/Legend Video; It’s Cumming by Heatwave; Perverted Stories The Movie by JM Productions; and Space Nuts by Wicked Pictures.

This event has quickly become a favorite for media and industry alike. “I flew in from Florida just for the show last year and had a blast,” Mike Moz of Nightmoves Publications said. “This is really a laid back, relaxed and no-pressure event.”

Best New Starlet nominees include Ashley Blue, Jesse Jane, Kaylani Lei, Lauren Phoenix and Stormy. Best New Stud includes Barrett Blade, Ben English, Kurt Lockwood, Trent Tesoro and Trevor Zen. Competition for Best Director is between directorial heavyweights Axel Braun, Jules Jordan, Jonathan Morgan, Michael Raven and Paul Thomas.

Scheduled highlights of the evening include the Hall of Fame inductees: James Avalon, Adam Glasser AKA Seymore Butts and Selena Steele. A few surprises are also being arranged.

Showtime to Shoot Butts at XRCO Show

Mainstream is invading the XRCO awards. The Showtime cable network is sending a crew to the August 19 porno gala to cover the induction of Adam “Seymore Butts” Glaser into the XRCO Hall of Fame as a tie-in to his Family Business TV show.

"It's always great to be recognized by your peers, and I'm looking forward to a great evening," says Butts. "As for Showtime taping it, that's just been an expected part of my life, so to me it's nothing new. Although it will be the first official day of shooting for season three, so that will also be nice."

Additional updates on the annual event include the announcement that Evan Stone will be the master of Ceremonies. He will share this with Luccia, the Mistress of Ceremonies. Presenters include Brittney Skye, Keisha, Bridgette Kerkove, the KSEX Gang, and others.

Pandora Dreams will be the Heart-On-Girl – a name given to the Trophy Girl to coincide with the usual time of year for this event: Valentine’s Day. Previous Heart-On-Girls included women like Nina Hartley, Angela Summers, Amber Lynn, Jeanette Littledove, and others.

The XRCO (X-Rated Critics Organization) Awards Show will be held August 19, 2004 once again at the Century Club in Century City. Free entry to this special event is limited to adult industry members and it is not open to the general public. Doors open at 7 and the show should begin promptly at 8.
