Would you be ok with them carrying right on with a lifestyle most other DECENT non-monsters can never hope to accomplish??
I didn't want to have to say this because there are a lot of animal lovers out there, but human children and animals are on completely opposite ends of the spectrum. No comparison at all.
If someone stole my pet, made it fight, and then shot it due to it's injuries I'd be irate. I'd want to kill him. Then again, when someone changes lanes without signaling I want to kill them too, but it's not my job. The law handles corrections, and they did in the Vick case too.
You're acting like Vick got into dog fighting to satisfy some primal urge to torture animals and that's just not the case. He wanted a quick, tax-free payday at the cost of his own pet's lives. It's terrible and wrong what he did, but you might as well shun every hunter out there too if killing an animal somehow equates to killing a person in your mind.
EDIT- The last part of what you wrote about the 'lifestyle' just sounds like jealousy. "If I can't have it, why should he?"
I wasnt saying dogs and children are the same...but why is what he did ok and forgivable just because his victims werent human?? This wasnt some drug charge or ANY semblance of a victimless crime. He RIPPED DOGS APART,ELECTROCUTED AND DROWNED THEM WITH HIS BARE HANDS. He did this over and over for years...happily.That isnt someone who made a mistake and we should all forgive and forget. That is a fucking sociopath.
And it isnt jealousy at all. I have no problem with other athletes earning much more then him...they havent committed the outrageously horrible crimes he has. Someone who willingly and happily tortured and killed for years for fun and profit shouldnt be able to go back to doing what he wants to do like nothing happened. Esp when that includes being a role model, which like it or not..athletes are.
