I can't wait to see the fight between the Philly art-fag PETA members, and the drunken, tail gating loons that occupy the stadium in Philly. I think it might conjure visions of construction workers beating down hippies in the 60s.
Anyway, it is probably a good spot for Vick. Gets into a no pressure situation. Eagles probably going to the playoffs w/wo him. And if he is at QB, he's only slightly less accurate than Donovan, so they won't be losing much there.

I don't envision the home of the Philly cheese steak giving too much love to PETA. Any protests will take place at away games (but not in Dallas, too many BBQ lovers). If Reid can find a way to get McNabb, Vick, Westbrook, and Macklin on the field at the same time they will stretch an opposing defense thinner than Kirstie Alley's panties when she picks up the morning paper off her porch.

Actually Philly fans are fucking BRUTAL and shit like animal abuse will fire them up BIG time. It already has...at the preseason game when this was announced...40,000 Eagles fans stood up to boo and protest.
As a lifelong Eagles fan...I've lost all respect today. Fuck Andy Reid. How DARE he compare his own druggie useless kids to Vick?? At least his kids didnt intentionally and gleefully kill innocents.
And Vick hasnt played in years...not to mention he was a shitty player to begin with.Cant pass or run worth a damn.
I just hope that he shows his true colors ASAP since his reinstatement is probationary and gets kicked the fuck off.

I agree that Vick has served his sentence and yes he had more consequences than the average person convicted of the same thing. But playing in the NFL is a privilege. I am not saying that he shouldn't be able to work again, clearly he should. But he should have to start over like most people do after a felony conviction.
Hell I am a teacher...you think if I slept with a student, got convicted and served my time they would let me teach again? What about after all the students who supported me and came forward talked about all the positive impact I have had on them? What about looking at how my students test on standardized test? No I would have to pick a new career and start over doing something else....Just want a little equity.

There's all of these people claiming he deserves a second chance. Hasn't he gotten that already? A second chance, to a convict, means getting the hell out of prison and having your rights back.
This is far from a second chance.

Vick's crime has nothing to do with his profession...it's completely unrelated. Also, how is playing in the NFL considered a 'privilege'? It's a business, and if Vick's served his time, he should be able to go back to work. There are more than enough ex-cons NOT working right now, we don't need another one.

we had a teacher who got fired because the dogs found pot in his car (on a monday after a camping trip)

I really don't care enough about the subject to argue it at length, so I'll agree to disagree. I will say that I do believe the man has a conscience, he's a jock, not some boogieman...just a greedy asshole that got caught up in something that was obviously bigger than he could handle.
The whole last paragraph about bringing guns and ammo on planes to hurt him...wow, just wow. I hope you have the same kind of compassion for the people that Donte Stallworth and Ray Lewis killed.

I agree it's the way it is, that's why I like Vick getting a 2nd chance. It's a high profile situation where people aren't responsible on a forever basis for how they fucked up their life previously. And, maybe it will help break that prejudice in society at large.
The "just want a little equity" kind of sounds like you want Vick to have to suffer the same unfair fate too many other people do, just because he's successful.
Would you hold it against one of those teachers if they were able to get back into their beloved teaching field after having had to pay the price for the types of transgressions you mention? The pot first, the one-time sex with a student 2nd.
If you're saying it's the way it should be, Cameron pretty much taught me via PM that she'll bite into my ass relentlessly if I try to argue that...

I know it is the way it is.....all i am saying is people should expect or allowed back the way he did.....his second chance is getting out of jail and putting his life back together....not pressing the pause button on someone's life......
the teacher should be given second chances......(not in the same career).....hell go teach college, tutor, or Sylvan, citizenship.....just not back in the same venue/sector when the mess up really occured.....

The moral issue for you is that the transgressor must "change venues" after having served whatever penance his crime requires?
So, if Michael Vick's career had landing him playing arena football when he was tagged for dog-fighting? You'd be okay if when he came out of prison that he could go to the NFL under those circumstances? If some NFL team said he was good enough to play for them?
Or, does the "change in venue" have to be a step down from what he was doing before?

Why does Vick have to become a blue collar laborer when the school teacher crimes you compare his too, the school teachers can go on, getting similar (but, in different venues) or possibly even getting better jobs?

I wasnt saying dogs and children are the same...but why is what he did ok and forgivable just because his victims werent human?? This wasnt some drug charge or ANY semblance of a victimless crime. He RIPPED DOGS APART,ELECTROCUTED AND DROWNED THEM WITH HIS BARE HANDS. He did this over and over for years...happily.That isnt someone who made a mistake and we should all forgive and forget. That is a fucking sociopath.
And it isnt jealousy at all. I have no problem with other athletes earning much more then him...they havent committed the outrageously horrible crimes he has. Someone who willingly and happily tortured and killed for years for fun and profit shouldnt be able to go back to doing what he wants to do like nothing happened. Esp when that includes being a role model,which like it or not..athletes are.
