There once was a college professor who was bored as he sat on the hillside watching the world with resentment. To amuse himself he took a great breath and sang out, "Racist! Racist! The Man is keeping me down!"

The media came running up the hill to help the professor drive the racist away. But when they arrived at the top of the hill, they found no racist. The professor laughed at the sight of their angry faces.

"Don't cry 'racist', professor," said the media, "when there's no racist!" They went grumbling back down to their offices.

Later, the professor sang out again, "Racist! Racist! The Man is keeping me down!" To his naughty delight, he watched the media run up the hill to help him drive the racist away.

When the media saw no racist they sternly said, "Save your frightened song for when there is really something wrong! Don't cry 'racist' when there is NO racist!"

But the professor just grinned and watched them go grumbling down to their offices once more.

Later, he saw a REAL racist asking him for ID. Alarmed, he leaped to his feet and sang out as loudly as he could, "Racist! Racist!"

But the media thought he was trying to fool them again, and so they didn't come.

At sunset, everyone wondered why the college professor hadn't returned to the university. They went up the hill to find the professor. They found him weeping.

"There really was a racist here! My civil rights were denied and I had to show him my ID! I cried out, "Racist!" Why didn't you come?"

Reverend Al Sharpton tried to comfort the professor as they walked back down the hill.

"We'll help you look for your misplaced ego tomorrow," he said, putting his arm around the professor, “Nobody believes a negro...even when he is telling the truth! That’s why you have to shame the dirty crackers into it."

My Freshman Year, I lived in a dorm called Canaday Hall; it was only one of 2 or 3 freshman dorms handicap accessible in Harvard yard back in 1986-1987, but because of that it was BRAND NEWm and I was lucky enough to have kick ass furnishings and bathroom/shower. Everyone else had furnishings with JFK's initals in it...

Anyhow, in the basement of Canaday Hall, there was a complex of offices called the W.E.B. Dubois Institute....I will leave it to all you cretins to educate yourselves on who W.E.B. Dubois was...but during my frosh year, Professor Henry Louis Gates was the director of the W.E.B. Dubois Insitute.

Suffice it to say, Henry and his gang did not like having Burg as the "upstairs neighbor".....if only jamesn were here, I hope he is lurking and reads this. If jamesn comes back I will tell you all about the time(s), after a weekend during football season, the student zealots and Professor Gates found pizza crusts at the bottom of their stairwell leading down into the W.E.B. Dubois Institute....not that I KNOW anything specific about such (uncle)tomfoolery, I just might have allegedly seen something relevant about certain acts of (uncle)tomfollery that may have tended to [jesse]indubitably[/jesse] smack of racist overtones...possibly a few undertones as well. Henry was an Undergraduate at YALE...check this out, on his application to Yale he wrote "As always, whitey now sits in judgment of me, preparing to cast my fate. Since it was in fact the Year 1968 and Dr King had earlier been whacked in April, when the admissions board at Yale had to make their decision regarding Henry's application/supplication to join the Elite upper crust of society, they caved ....

Until the admissions board read my eassy, I was just another smart white middle class male trying to get a pass to the fast track for success....do you think I gave them something like Henry did where I ranted angrily about being born fucked up with a virtual death sentence from the idiot doctors of the day? Orrrrr....did Da Burg, borrowing (admittedly) heavily from the cultural breakthru hit of 1983, Risky Business and being inspired by Curtis Armstrong's character in that flick, tell the admissions board at Harvard that "You could use a guy like me at HArvard." By junior year in High school, I had indeed learned the literal meaning of "tit For Tat" and how it worked in the real world/economy....the school sluts and hotties all held me in special regard, and I them, for what I could and did give them...Cigs, booze, term papers, notes from home, the doctor, letters from parents saying it was okay for their daughter to fuck as many men as she wanted so just give her the fucking pill/medicine/contraceptive/abortion etc. I left it to the huge football players, and brooding misunderstood rebels, to FUCK the sluts and all the hottie cheerleader/girlfriends ... they took all the risks and had to put up with the bullshit. What I got was a staedy supply of blowjobs and handjobs in exchange for all that I provided, which often simply was a siz pack of wine coolers (remember Bartles & Jaynes?) and a sympathetic ear for the girls to bend. Their doltish football player gorilla boyfriends, while serving their purpose and ramming the girls' pipes while holding them against the wall, just had NO clue as to what young women really wanted or needed. I did. I was one of the earliest pioneers of the Friends-with-benefits movement, but with a client-whore twist added 80s pop style. I never had to push myself to class with my books on my lap in HS.
