We weren't the victors in the Hostage Crisis. We very much lost that battle and we're paying for it still 30 years later. The Iranian Hostage Crisis showed America to be a paper tiger that was powerful, but very squeamish about using that power. Sure, the hostages go home safely, but we definitely didn't win.
