Gov. Perry is about to be involved in a very hairy state election against strong enemies in his own party. The secession talk was just a public demonstration of states rights, like the tea parties.

Of course he is a republican so, in your one track mind, he can't be allowed to be defiant against the powers in charge of DC. People might emulate him and pretty soon no one will want that trillion dollar health care, you know the one that will end up costing tens of trillions dollars in the end.
