They mainly covered feature porn. One of the only time they mentioned gonzo, was max hardcore going to prison. I thought it was quite typical.
It was interesting to see that the girl from digital playground said they edit out certain content...she mentioned if a girl likes getting choked she'll let it happen, but then edit it out later.

For once they didn't focus on the negative things in porn. No Drug abuse No Hiv no nothing but finances and Max. Max is being screwed now. Oh well he'll be back.

That's disappointing, especially if matters are as bad within the biz as some people have claimed.
I suppose the public will not discover truth of the matter any time soon, though. I pretty well fucked that up at ADT, and now there's a crusading idiot there who will further ensure that the porn industry thinks that its enemies are all completely unreasonable and batshit insane.
Sigh.

Salon had an article year's ago on Stagliano that said EA made $7 million a year and Stagliano took home about a $1 million of that.
I would guess that Elegant Angel (aka Patrick Collins) and Jules Jordan are the other big-time US gonzo producers.
I know that Reuben Sturman and Adam and Eve were huge back in the day (70s/80s) as well. Probably much bigger than anyone today except for the likes of Larry Flynt.

By comparing Porn: Business Of Pleasure with other documentaries on porn, it gets more and more obvious that this is one of the more "pro" or relaxed ones out there.
I just watched The Price Of Pleasure - Pornography, Sexuality & Relationships. Man, those producers are some moralists on the level of religious propaganda. They keep barking about the degrading nature they observe in porn and don't mind much about separating on-screen circus act from off-screen business.
Jeff Steward is in there, he gives some comment at an expo or so. As supplimentary material on the DVD the donkey punch is explained while featuring an article of some porn rag founded by some female student, angry young women are shown, an editor of the magazine who points out the obviousness of the "joke" follows. The actual Donkey Punch by JM Productions isn't mentioned once. Oblivious idiots. They could've just searched for it on the web. Also on the DVD was Noam Chomsky, who was interviewed by Hustler a while back. He stated that, contrary to the supporting role for porn he was associated with in the past, he actually has nothing good to say about the industry.
In the main feature, Joanna Angel talks about how she laughs about the guys giving her shit or some other form of attention would go home and jerk off to her movies while she makes money as a result. Well, she's just another porn whore with an ugly mug, easily avoided and nothing special. Perhaps a bit deluded.

As someone who likes a solid documentary that provides an objective look at both sides of the argument, and a lover of those kinds of films, as well as women in general, I can honestly say this propo-mentary of steaming crap is just that...crap. I saw a preview version of this documentary earlier today, and it annoyed me so much I had to spill my woman hating/degrading guts about it. Or so this flick would have have you think that's what my guts are made of, being a red-blooded male who played high-school sports, lost his virginity at 16, and fell in love for a couple years with another amazing woman.
I love porn, and if you're a guy reading this, you at least LIKE porn. Stop denying it to the chick sitting next to you...STOP IT! Being single for a while now (like a WHILE NOW!), and being a good looking, testosterone-filled 23 year old with an education, I have to wonder. I must wonder what kind of people, in the year 2009 (2008 and probably 07 and 06 in which the film was made) would make a film like this.
If you don't know anything about the porn industry, and you don't know much about women, and finally you know nothing about the human condition and the basic business model then this movie is just right for you! It will have you thinking like a generally ignorant, pseudo-lesbian, farrrr right conservative in no time! There are a lot of elements that make a good documentary, and this film has none of them, short of an above average soundtrack. The "facts" are way off base (to the tune of Farenheit 9/11 times 2), the content is grossly mis-represented, and the message preaches occurrence of abuse. There are so many positive things about expressing all forms of sexuality, kinky and/or degrading or not. Stating that women are degrading themselves in porn is just as much a fantasy as the most degrading porn.
For every role or situation a pornography director/producer creates, a talent is there to fill the role. After an AIDS test every thirty days or less, a meet and greet, a discussion of what the scene will be like, an agreement on price, a personal agreement between 2 or more performers and a director on what is on/off limits, a 3hr+ wait time to set up a shoot, it is sad that a willing woman is obviously forced into these acts for money /sarcasm"

And not everyone has been on here or other porn sites for many years. If I say something that might be obvious to you, it's because to get others informed if they didn't know already. Then that starts a whole new conversation instead of the same five freaking threads every day.
