Because Tito is a douche. He is washed up and has an over inflated estimate of his value. Since he has been done with his UFC contract, he has made quite a few claims of being near signing contract that will "turn the business upside down." He was hoping to get EliteXC to sign him to a stupendous deal, right before they went belly up. Affliction has said they aren't going to pay him what he is asking for. Strikeforce will probably sign him to a bonus laden deal to bring some attention to one of their CBS dates. Tito is so dumb, that he married a broke down whore, and he gets pissed when people talk to her like she's a whore! At this point in his career, he's better off trying to get an announcing gig. Dumb as a box of rocks, with a big mouth and a microphone is always entertaining (ex. John Madden).
All that said, UFC doesn't want him showing up at their event to promote himself so he can go somewhere else and fight. To put it in whore terms, would Larry Flynt have been happy if Hef showed up at that party last night to shamelessly promote the fact that Playboy is the premier mens magazine.
