Long time ago, when I thought it was funny to show up at NORML rallies, I remember reading about the Marijuana Stamp Tax Act or called something like that. Remember reading something about the Dupont company being a big driver behind the law. Something about Dupont had some material for making stuff like rope and canvases they were selling that hemp was a competitor with. Outlawing hemp made their product much more valuable in the market... Not swearing toward that knowledge, but I do remember raising my hand in a Sociology course in college and saying something like that and the professor agreeing with me...
