Yes, there are people who can't handle alcohol, or pot, but there are people who can't handle working a normal job and paying taxes either, that doesn't mean we're going to make those illegal either. Hundreds of people blow themselves up trying to BBQ a hamburger on the grill, but BBQ or hamburgers cooked on a grill don't need to be made illegal.

We should make intelligent, common sense laws for the average, normal, law abiding citizen, and punish or institutionalize the submorons and losers who can't follow laws or function in society.

People can't drive safely, but cars shouldn't be outlawed. Of course, some people can't handle alcohol or marijuana either. I don't see this as a slippery slope. I feel strongly about this issue. I would vote for a candidate based on his or her opinion of legalizing pot.
