I thought it was common knowledge that back in the day they started using terms like porn "actor" or porn "film" to imply some similarity to real movies with a tongue-in-cheek wink and nod to the fact that it was all a facade. I think they were just trying to keep that first amendment protection from prosecution if they could masquerade as a real film.

There was a time when I thought somebody should make a good porno film that was also an interesting story. That time was when I was about 11.

Porn and interesting plots and story lines simply are not as good as a well produced straight ahead fuck flick.
