Am I a bad parent if I have a few drinks and tow my kid and maybe a few of his friends behind my boat at subsonic speeds?.
Usually these kids are hockey players and can take a good hit so coming home with a concussion is just another weekend.

I'm not sure you are Garfield, and I was never sure the original "Garfield" wasn't an alt, but assuming it's all true it's good to see someone who flunked out of east coast porn come back to the board.

I had a Peter and Jane book. My grandpa brought it back from a trip to England. It was their version of Dick and Jane but I liked the Brit Jane's dresses better.

That book is awesome. I am beating my head against the wall trying to remember this other book I used to LOVE. I do remember being obsessed with Shel Silverstein books though.

 I remember my 2nd year in prep school our teacher read this book for us. It was so amazing when I went home I started to draw all these scenarios from what I could remember. I even drew on the walls in my room. Mr Fox was my hero. .jpg) I'm very stubborn because, even though Jack and the Beanstalk is one of my favorite stories, I can't accept any version except this one. The artwork has to be this. The cover has to be this. My girlfriend bought me some souped up version and I couldn't read it.  This was one of my favorite books. I remember getting this a CS Lewis box collection with all his books like The Silver Chair, Prince Caspian etc, but The Lion, The Witch... was always my favorite.  Stories by Lady Comtesse de Provence. These books were huge and they didn't have a picture on the cover or any label. Just a giant green hardback book- yet inside were probably the best stories I'd ever read. Sort of a mixture of Poe, Gogol and Aesop.

I was always partial to this Dr Suess book
Here's a scan of another favorite- I still have the book.
And "The Walrus and the Carpenter" also ranks highly.
We were indulged with books as kids. Every birthday and Christmas meant more books- we went to the library all the time. Books were one thing my parents never throttled. I think that's a reason my sister is a librarian.

When I was in 2nd grade, my friend Debbie was obsessed with The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. My mom noticed and tried intro-ing me to C.S. Lewis, but it didn't stick. But my mom ended up becoming a huge fan of his work. At least it wasn't that borefest JR Tolken.

Well, I was just responding to somebody calling me out. I can take it though. I don't have anything against anybody on here, but I am just trying to show how silly Bornyo's response was...

I think I probably would have ignored anybody else calling me out but that little wuss, Loucypher. That sort of thing usually just rolls off my back and gives me a chuckle, but Loucypher is the epitome of the old timer, brown nosing, you're-a-good-poster-'cause-you've-been-here-a-long-time, jackass that I particularly had in mind with my initial post.

I used to love this story. All I remember is after a while he can't stop the broom from getting the water, and eventually he floods the Sorcerer's castle, but I forget what happened in the end.
My bedtime stories at the time were mainly from Aesop's Fables.

haha, yeah I meant the disney one. There is a scene where Mickey steals the sorcerer's hat and makes the broom do the work for him (moving water), except the broom splits in half and in half over and over again... long story short, too much work gets done and the sorcerer is PISSED.

In the book, when the apprentice realizes he cannot stop the broom from fetching water, he hacks it in an attempt to "kill" it, but the 2nd piece just runs off to get water. He does this again and again until he has about 10 brooms all fetching water and thus flooding the Sorcerer's castle even faster.
I'd love to read it again, but I have to find the one with the "right" cover otherwise all the illustration will look too foreign to me.
