WASHINGTON - Mississippi's still king of cellulite, but an ominous tide is rolling toward the Medicare doctors in neighboring Alabama: obese baby boomers.

It's time for the nation's annual obesity rankings and, outside of fairly lean Colorado, there's little good news. In 31 states, more than one in four adults are obese, says a new report from the Trust for America's Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

And obesity rates among adults rose in 23 states over the past year, and no state experienced a significant decline.

"The obesity epidemic clearly goes beyond being an individual problem," said Jeff Levi, executive director of the Trust, a nonprofit public health group.

Around here it gets a bit cumbersome dealing with pounds or kilos, so we use Mississippi Units to measure weight. It hasn't been officially standardized, but generally 1 Mississippi unit is about what the average healthy young adult should weigh.

So, the average adult female around here would be 3 or 4 Mississippi Units, while the really big ones can be 7 or 8 Mississippi Units.

Lining up the fatty map more or less lines up with the Repug block.

The same people who engorge themselves are susceptible to the Repugs who promise them ever-lasting tax cuts, unregulated deep-fried snacks, and an "effort" to prevent immigrants from taking low-paying jobs.

now some one needs to do a study on the Anorexia nervosa and Crack head states.....for then I am loading up my truck and movin there!!!
