There are many suggestions to protect porn workers from disease. Regular blood tests, condoms, simulated sex. I was recently looking around the net and came across some interesting information from the CDC.
http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/topics/aa/resources/factsheets/aa.htm
Quote:
* According to the 2000 census, blacks make up approximately 13% of the US population. However, in 2005, blacks accounted for 18,121 (49%) of the estimated 37,331 new HIV/AIDS diagnoses in the United States in the 33 states with long-term, confidential name-based HIV reporting [2].*
* Of all black men living with HIV/AIDS, the primary transmission category was sexual contact with other men, followed by injection drug use and high-risk heterosexual contact [2].
* Of all black women living with HIV/AIDS, the primary transmission category was high-risk heterosexual contact, followed by injection drug use [2].
* Of the estimated 141 infants perinatally infected with HIV, 91 (65%) were black (CDC, HIV/AIDS Reporting System, unpublished data, December 2006).
* Of the estimated 18,849 people under the age of 25 whose diagnosis of HIV/AIDS was made during 2001–2004 in the 33 states with HIV reporting, 11,554 (61%) were black [3].
Most porn workers live high risk life styles inside and outside of their profession compared to the general public. I would think that looking at the CDC information it would be easy to conclude that avoiding interracial scenes and working with performers who do IR scenes would offer a significant decrease in the risk of HIV for many individuals who perform in the industry who hope to live many years beyond their time as a porn performer in addition to the measures already available and in use.
Tritone incoming........ LOL
back to the Reducing topic...and condom use was mentioned.....also the mere fact that scenes are not traditional situations....meaning unusually bazaar places/locations to fuck on......thus leading into the topic of consistency....if condoms had a 100% effective rate in these type of circumstances then there would be a case....since that would absolutely rule out any reoccuring "problems" ever.....but the data just is not there....so in conclusion if it dosent work that way then you DONT try and fix the wrong way....it would only create simple minded people trusting their life to chance once again....and more shitty publicity.
