Well, there are very few things that can pass as "attempts" at suicide that are conducive to an internet forum. I mean, you can't exactly sit down at your computer and leisurely type out your story about attempting to shoot yourself in the head, or attempting to jump off a building, or attempting to hang yourself, or any of a number of any other messy alternatives to taking some "pills" since there would obviously be physical damage requiring intervention even if it wasn't successful.

By the way, I suspect that this thread is completely all about "jumping the shark".
