Hey sweetheart, you might want to look into the American Civil War and preceding that, look into John C. Calhoun. Following the Civil War look into a party called the DixieCrats and a few fellows named Strom Thurmond, Dick riley, Fritz Hollings, Lindsey Graham... and the list goes on. It's never the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog.
