I spent $26.75 at the Trump Taj Mahal buffet. The food the generally sucked, and I would never pay $26.75 for it if I knew the price beforehand. I thought that the price would be $8.00, $12.00 tops. So when I waited ion line to pay, the cashier said $26.75. I was kinda shocked but paid it anyway. The waiter seated me in one of the most remote areas there and then I proceed to picking the food. For the 1st plate I picked shrimp, mashed potatoes w/gravy, and BBQ ribs. I also asked for a Coke.
The potatoes were the worst that I ever ate, they looked good but tasted like tasteless paste and it was very watery. The shrimp was awfull as well: unpeeled with legs and no taste. I tried peeling it off but then decided that I am not eating that. So, I ate 2 forks of mashed potatoes, and 0 shrimp from the 1st plate. BBQ ribs were okay but not good.
For the 2nd plate I decided to get pizza, so I chose pepperoni & mushrooms and a slice of veggie pizza.
They both rated 6/10. 3rd plate was a slice of roast beef, slice of roasted turkey w/gravy, lo mein, more of BBQ ribs and chicken alfredo. I ate a bit of both roasted meats and pretty much finished everything else. Lo mein was 5/10, roast beef & roasted turkey 6/10 and chicken alfrdo 8/10.
4th plate was more of pizza, 1 slice of pepperoni & mushroom and a thin slice of vegie pizza(new one, just baked) and more of BBQ ribs. The new thin pizza rated 8/10 here, because it actually tasted good compared to the other ones.
Then I went over to the cakes. Here I chose key lime pie with a cup of jello. The key like pie was extremely good: a 10/10. It was the best key lime pie that I ever eaten. The jello was 6/10, nithing special other than the thick plastic cup. Then I chose another slice of the key lime pie and some more jello, because 1 cup is not enough. And for the final plate I chose their cobler. I rated it 8/10 just because it tasted good and nothing more.

Well hell...if I had known you were willing to shell out more then a dollar and a BJ I'd have told you what buffets were better. I lived right outside AC after college for years.I had a friend who was the rest. reviewer for the AC Press and did the whole tour with him! (Woo hoo..THATS how you get free food in AC baby! Connections...a casino town is ALWAYS about connections!)
Of course the best IMO was the Epic Buffet,which I believe is gone now.
But if you are still there and want good food at a decent price 24/7...def go to the Baltimore Grill. Awesome pasta sauce! And white house subs are some of the best in the country,and again,reasonably priced.
Well...reasonable to those of us not looking for handouts anyway.

Places around here that I eat at, I hate it when they are, we don't have just one specialty, we do everything! How could they possibly stock everything efficiently if it's fresh? They buy it frozen, thaw, and then cook it. I rarely like buffets that are like that. Even this one where I knew the guy when he was going to culinary school, he makes lots of stuff fresh for his buffet. But, it's so much different stuff, the only way for him to do it financially efficiently was to make one thing at a time and just let the stuff sit out there for hours. A chocolate raspberry muffin just doesn't taste as good after it's sat under a heat lamp for 2 hours.

It's hard to mess up ribs. The meat was frozen.

You just have to remember to walk away when you're up. When I did it, my threshold was $100, usually betting $5, sometimes as much as $20 a hand.
I signed up for 2 comp cards: Total Rewards and Trump One. I spent most of my time in Taj Mahal and earned $5.00 in comp dollars and 138 tier points. 4,000 tier points bumps up the card to the Executive level and 10,000 tier points brings it up to the Chairman level.
Including food, bus fare and the gambling losses, I was out of around $87.00.
I wanna learn how to play poker.
Also, they had women on the slot machine floor offering drinks, they been offering them like they are free. Are these drinks free? Or is the a tip involved?

Yes, most definitely in Atlantic City as well.
"Off season" in AC is basically January thru March, and then kinda "off" in April and most of MAy. June through September are Prime Time in AC, and unless you are a high roller, you wont get much in the way of comps. October through December are mixed, because of the Holidays and all the shopping available in AC it isnt exactly OFF season.
I have been on a AC kick since January of this year, I grew sick of Vegas plus I was briefly interested in a Nurse in AC. But I have stayed a total of 14 comped nights (out of 18 total) at the Tropicana Between February 5 and June 5...in part because of the slow business climate (actually, try DEAD), and in part because the very first time I stayed in AC in February (5-8), I was with my non-whore female interest who was indeed and RN (Registered Nutjob) and we/she blew about 1500 on Slots (thats how much I SPENT, but in between all the spins we/she won a lot so total action on the 1500 amounted to something like 4,000). So for a 3 day stay, that rated me high enough in the Trop's eyes for them to offer me 2 free nights EACH week (ANY NIGHT, even Saturdays provided they had rooms available) Up until the end of this month, June 28. Not bad...of course, when the host checks your finances, that influences what they give you a little too, at least intitally.
But since I havent been back with the nursey nurse, I have pretty much only played Poker since then ($5-10 NL Holdem - Minimum $300 Maximum $1500 buy-in), so the only shit I expect to be offred AFTER June 28 would be the poker players rate.
I've offered to bring Cameron with me, but she claims she is allergic to wheels or something....

Alex, a tightass jew such as yourself should know how to maximize the all you can eat experience. Don't fuck with the cakes, bread, or potatoes. That shit is cheap. They want you to eat it to fill yourself up. Pace yourself. Beef, pork, and chicken do well on a buffet table. Seafood is always shitty. If your first two plates have nothing but meat on them, you can rest assured knowing that the buffet has lost any chance of making a profit off your jew ass.

Yeah. When I went to pick up plate #3 or #4, I come back and there's a dirty plate on my table. I stand around it and 10 seconds later the waiter comes by and says "Sorry, sorry. It was someone else"  . And why should I wait 5 minutes for a fucking soda? That's the kind of service that they have there.
And they fucked up my first and last name on the Trump One card and refused to correct it.

One note on bad service: I never don't tip. The person giving you shitty service at the restaurant needs to know you didn't just forget. If I'm pissed that I didn't get the drink I ordered until after I finished my meal, I leave a dollar under the glass.

The majority of buffets in this part of the country have the plates at the buffet bar. Now if they would stuff a dinner roll into the mouth of the screaming four year old sitting in the table behind me then I would leave an appreciative tip.

I'll agree with that. I've never understood the point of tipping at a buffet where you have to get your own food and half the time your own refills as well. I don't think someone bringing me one dinner roll necessitates 18% of the bill.
They are still clearing the plates and getting you new ones and crap like that. Depending on how many plates you go through...could mean more work then bringing your dinner once.I might not tip the same as at a reg rest. but I always tip.
