That's interesting to see in full color, because it makes it seem like the pictures were just taken yesterday. You're seeing it the way they saw it, rather than some old degraded B&W photo.

Life has links to other, similar collections of pictures taken by one of his personal photographers. There's one of Neville Chamberlain surrounded by a Nazi color guard and 6 foot plus SS officers. It's black and white though, but it still makes you wonder if Chamberlain is about to wet his pants at being surrounded by all that reined in thuggery.

Very interesting time capsule..... early color photos really make the past come alive. They quality was not there yet and B/w images were still better for the time. These photos really epitomized the Nazi ideology with the grand rooms very much like The Flight of the Valkyries opera. His idea of superiority of the German race is coursing through every part of these images! Crazy!

Every photo of him had to be approved. He was obsessed with his nose because of the rumors that he had Jewish blood (and because he did not meet up to the tall blond Aryan ideal). He even styled his mustache that way to try to blunt the appearance of how far his nose projected outward. There's no way to tell what was really up with Hitler's genitalia. So many people hated him that there are too many different stories and witness accounts out there. The book 'Explaining Hitler' listed all the different rumors: 1 testicle, no testicles, micro-phallus, half a dick from getting bitten by a goat as a youth ETC A story that appears to be true is that he was into scat. His teen niece Geli, who killed herself to escape him, confided that he made her piss and crap on him reglarly while he would beat off.

Not just Hitler, but all of the Nazi Hierarchy, within his inner circle. The best books are the ones you don't want to put down. I had that problem with this book.

Yea why would you say that....I like reading about the civil war doesn't mean I endorse slavery...History is fascinating...in all its forms from the early humans to the World wars and onward.. Maybe history wasn't your best subject...

That film stock is quite good for the late '30s. I hadn't ever seen photographs that clear for the time period before. I wish they still made ornate buildings like that... at least in America. Instead, there's cookie-cutter buildings going up everywhere.
