It's kind of a balance of both. Most people could never be obsessed enough to amass such a profound and eclectic collection. But, still, it is tinged with the porn shame as noted above.
My most recent gathering, which was done while posting here and on ESPN, consists of 96 complete movies, in 137 files [many are split into 2 "CDs"] that encompass 95.8Gb, 182 hours, 34 min & 56 sec of play time.
Other than "Sister's Unchained", which has some scenes with THE Twins that I haven't watched yet, I don't actually plan to watch any of it. Ever. I just enjoy amassing it for its own sake.
It makes me happy as, say, Ryan Knox with a boner!
Damn, 15 Tb! That's a lot.
The part in bold is what I like the best of your post. Somehow, it sounds very familiar.
