I spent a bit of time tonight researching the May 28, 1935 game between the Boston Braves and the Cincinnati Reds. The Reds had played the first MLB night game 3 days earlier, the day Babe Ruth was hitting his last 3 home runs in Pittsburgh. Crosley Field had a terrace in left field instead of a warning track. A fat and forty Babe Ruth fell on his face chasing a hit over his head on the terrace, walked off the field, and retired 2 days later. The '35 Braves hold the record for the worst winning percentage in the 20th century, so it's possible Ruth played on the best ('27 Yanks) and worst ('35 Braves) teams of all time.
