The English are Anglo Saxon Germans who invaded Britain in the 5th century AD, the welsh are the original Romanized Celts who the Angles and Saxons defeated. There is no love or kinship between the English and Welsh. They suffered under Anglo Saxon, Norman then English rule for centuries like the Scots and the Irish did.
