Because he is a coward and full of shit. I have been trying to drive this point home with my gay and/or more liberal friends with a debate that is teetering on a flame war. It's the same reason why he was silent on gay marriage and remains so today. Their argument is "Well he just can't snap his fingers and change the laws". Correct, but as the leader of the 'free' world and a guy who ran on 'hope' and 'change' , he can at least fucking chime in. Sorry to stray, but it's getting pathetic....
