Holly you could not have written this any better. Having been down the rehab road myself, several times, and having come to terms with it, IMO the key was 120 days in an AA halfway house. It was there I met my sponsor and started writing the dreaded step 4. Also, you touched on spirituality. There is a spiritual change as you travel down the road of sobriety. I'm coming up on five years in August, and I can't explain to you the monumental changes in my life. I am a total junkie and alcoholic, but I know what I am now and am grateful to God for every day I'm here. If you have to tell others how well you're doing, you're not doing well. People know when you're doing well. Good luck to all who struggle with booxe or dope.
